Lake Toya Itinerary: 2-Day Trip in Hokkaido
Day 1: Arrival and Exploration
Morning: Travel from Sapporo/Noboribetsu to Lake Toya
Start your journey from either Sapporo or Noboribetsu by taking a JR train to Toyako Station. Upon arrival, you have two transportation options to reach your accommodation:
Public Bus: The bus stop is located 1 minute on the right side after exiting the station. Buses run every 45 minutes to 1 hour, so plan accordingly. If the bus is full, you will need to wait for the next one.
Taxi: While convenient, taxis are not always readily available, so be prepared for some waiting time.

Opt for the Breakfast & Dinner Package
If available, choose the breakfast and dinner buffet at the hotel—it's highly recommended for its variety and quality.
Late Afternoon: Discover Local Shops and Cafés
Take some time to explore the charming streets around Lake Toya, which are filled with restaurants, cafés, and local breweries.
Coffee Fix at 山岳喫茶 Sangaku Cafe: Just 3 minutes from the hotel, this café is perfect for a warm drink on a chilly day.
Exploring the Local Area: Spend 2-3 hours walking around the town, discovering local eateries and enjoying the peaceful lakefront atmosphere.

Night: Onsen with a View
End your day with a rejuvenating dip in the hotel’s open-air onsen, which offers a spectacular view of Lake Toya. Surprisingly, the onsen isn’t too cold, even in winter, making it a truly relaxing experience. Enjoy the fireworks display from the hotel room that runs for the entire February for FREE!
Day 2: Scenic Spots & Local Treats
Morning: Visit Ukimido Park & Lake Hill Farm
Cab to Ukimido Park & Lake Hill Farm: Since public transportation is limited, the best way to visit these spots is by taxi. Expect to pay around 7,000 yen ($70-$80 SGD) one way for the 30-minute ride.
Ukimido Park: A peaceful area with breathtaking lake views, especially magical when covered in snow.
Lake Hill Farm: Famous for its freshly made ice cream, this farm offers a delightful experience surrounded by snowy landscapes.
